Hello! I am Ms. Matute'! 

This is my second year at  Neabsco. Previously, I lived in Texas. I went to the University of North Texas (Go Eagles!) to become a teacher. I have two sisters, Adrienne and Jaiden. In the picture above is my puppy Leo. Also, I have a mom, dad, step-mom and step-dad. The rest of my family is huge! I have many aunts and uncles and tons of cousins. Some of my favorite things are Dr. Pepper, interactive art museums, any movie that isn't scary and laughing with my family. 

I am so excited for this school year! I know we will make it amazing. :)

About Me

Hi! My name is Mrs. Ascherl and I am so excited to be a part of the 2nd Grade Team. Most importantly, I am THRILLED to be your teacher. It's going to be a fun year full of learning and new adventures and I can't wait to see what the year has in store for us. I want to hear about you, but first I'm going to tell you a few things about me.

I was born in Carroll, Iowa and lived on a farm my whole childhood. When I graduated from High School, I attended Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa majoring in Psychology and Elementary Education and couldn't wait to graduate and start teaching.       

My first job was teaching a 3rd and 4th Grade combination classroom at Hunt Elementary in Sioux City. When I got married and moved, I taught 4th Grade at Corpus Christi Catholic Grade School in Fort Dodge for 9 years. In 2018 I was elated to start teaching 2nd Grade at Neabsco Elementary. This will be my 3rd year here at Neabsco!

I am married to a wonderful man, Joe and we have four marvelous children, two girls and two boys. My oldest daughter Caitlin lives in Los Angeles, CA with her husband, Andy and their daughter Rosalie and son Theodore (Teddy). My oldest son Collin, lives in Norfolk, VA. My middle daughter Caroline is beginning Marine Core training at Quantico. My youngest son, Connor, is a Senior at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.   

I am so excited to be your teacher and cannot wait to have an AWESOME year!
