Dear families,

Wow!  It’s hard to believe we’re a week away from the opening of this unprecedented school year!

An update on if you have requested a laptop: We’re working today and tomorrow on taking stock of our inventory and then will be back in touch.  At this point, it looks like our demand has exceeded our supply.  We’ll do our very best to get as many laptops out to as many students and families as possible.

A reminder to visit the PWCS Frequently Asked Questions page as it is frequently updated.

Here’s important information:

  • Welcome our new Administrative Intern Ms. Lisa Jackson!  Our administrative intern last year, Mrs. Maria Menjivar, became assistant principal at Rosa Parks Elementary School.  We have the pleasure to have Ms. Lisa Jackson, our school counselor last year, be our new administrative intern.  If you want to contact her, you can email her at jacksolc@pwcs.edu.

  • Classroom Placements: For grades 1-5, your child’s classroom teacher may have called you to introduce themselves and they may have seen and greeted you during our Drive Thru Open House.  For kindergarten, we finished screening and placements were finalized today.  Tomorrow, September 1st, you will be able to see in ParentVUE, your child’s classroom teacher.

  • Virtual Open Houses with your classroom teacher and Technology Help Sessions: This will be a time for you to connect with your child’s classroom teacher, learn how they will be doing virtual learning, and afterwards, our Instructional Technology Coordinator, Mr. Adam Hyatt, will doing family technology sessions to answer any questions you have.

  • Tuesday, September 1st, K-1 families, 6:00-7:00 with your child’s classroom teacher, 7:00-8:00 technology help session with our Instructional Technology Coach, Mr. Adam Hyatt (session will be translated into Spanish)

  • Wednesday, September 2nd, Grade 2-3 families, 6:00-7:00 with your child’s classroom teacher, 7:00-8:00 technology help session with our Instructional Technology Coach, Mr. Adam Hyatt (session will be translated into Spanish)

  • You should receive two Zoom links from your child’s classroom teacher.

I’ll likely be in touch with more updates this week and our Neabsco Administrative Team will “see” you virtually during the Open Houses and Tech Sessions over the next couple evenings.
