Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year. We are very excited to welcome our new Principal, Dr. Rodriguez. We are looking forward to an exciting school year!

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION

Kindergarten Registration Dates Set

Kindergarten registration for the 2010–11 school year is set for Wednesday, April 14 and Wednesday, April 28 at individual schools. Parents should contact their school for specific registration times. In order to determine the support children need to be successful in school, parents of children who speak or understand a different language, in addition to or instead of American English, will be asked to call one of two Central Registration sites, Coles, 703.791.2727, or Ann Ludwig, 703.491.8432, to make an appointment for an English language evaluation. Beginning April 29, English language learners will be registered and evaluated at Central Registration. Parents will need to call for an appointment.

La matrícula para niños que entrarán al Kinder

La matrícula para niños que entrarán al Kinder en el año escolar 2010–11 será el miércoles 14 de abril y el miércoles 28 de abril en las diferentes escuelas. Los padres deben comunicarse con las escuelas para conseguir los horarios de matrícula. PARENTAL RIGHT TO INFORMATION ABOUT TEACHERS

With the passage of the No Child Left Behind legislation on January 8, 2002, parents in Title I schools have the right to request certain information on their child’s teachers. The information that you have a right to request on your child’s teacher is:

a. Whether the teacher has met state qualifications and licensing criteria for the grade levels and subjects the teacher is teaching

b. Whether the teacher is teaching under emergency or other provisional status through which state qualification or licensing has been waived

c. The baccalaureate degree major of certification or degree held by the teacher, and the field of discipline of the certification or degree

d. Whether the child is provided services by paraprofessionals and, if so, their qualifications

At Neabsco Elementary School we are extremely proud of our teachers and teacher assistants, and are happy to provide you any of the above information pertaining to your child’s teacher. INTOUCH ONLINE

Dear Parent/Guardian:

This school year Neabsco Elementary will pilot a program called Intouch Online. This program will allow parents to check on attendance, grades, test scores, homework assignments, and other information pertaining to their child. Parents will be able to send a message to any staff member as well as update their child’s personal information.

Intouch Online is accessible through the school website and has the capability to be viewed in several languages. If you are interested in using this valuable tool, please contact our office at 703.670.2147 so that we may process your registration information. The registration process requires two days. Once your registration has been processed, you may come to the school and present photo identification in order to receive your School Fusion pass code. This pass code provides access to modify certain data for both you and your child. Please keep the pass code confidential for the protection of your student’s data. This pass code will follow your child as long as he attends any Prince William County School.
